super automatic espresso machine
Super Automatic Espresso Machines – These are the coffee machines your friends and neighbors will be talking about when they leave your house. They do pretty much everything for you: grind your coffee; fill and tamp the grind into the filter basket; brew the espresso (one or two); and then magically clean itself by dumping the used coffee grinds in its own receptacle. All you have to do is use the steam wand to froth your milk for a latté or cappuccino. And yes, some even come with automatic steam frothers too. You have to love technology sometimes.

They are usually commercial grade machines that take a capsule that has pre-ground coffee inside and then it - like the super automatic espresso machine - does everything for you and then cleans up after itself. They also provide a steam wand for lovers of lattés and cappuccinos.

Restaurant or Food service based coffee machines:

commercial espresso machine
Commercial Espresso Machines – Again, these are commercial grade single use espresso machines that are built for coffee shops, restaurants and other establishments that serve a lot of espresso on a daily basis. They have large water reservoirs so no special plumbing is needed and they can plug into a normal electrical outlet. Some of these also find there way into homes that want to have it all.

Manual Lever Espresso Machines –These are the old school espresso machines requiring great skill that offers the ultimate hands on espresso experience. These are found in high-end restaurants and homes for the enjoyment of the coffee purist.
